Our Mission
We exist to illuminate the rich and diverse histories of African Americans in Athens, Georgia and surrounding communities, to ignite a steadfast commitment to justice and truth-telling, and to inspire our youth to become architects of a fair and inclusive future.
Our Vision
The Center for Racial Justice and Black Futures is dedicated to uncovering and sharing the rich tapestry of Black history and culture, instilling hope through our past, and actively pursuing racial justice. We strive to be a beacon of knowledge and enlightenment, fostering a community deeply rooted in truth, empowering hope, and envisioning a future where Black heritage is a cornerstone of societal progress and understanding.
